Harden's says

Sign of the times – it’s out with the steak of Olde Englande (The Rib Room, RIP, has gone) and in with Med Seafood at this reopened super-lux five star off Sloane Street. Head Chef is Italian native Marco Calenzo who joined the hotel from not-very-Italian Zuma. We are promised "a convivial, gastronomic experience, taking guests on a journey between the French Riviera and Northern Italy and features a theatre kitchen, private dining room and al fresco dining".

“I was very sad to see the Rib Room go…” – this luxurious new Italian is a sequel to the age-old traditional British venture that sat (in a slightly different position) within the hotel for 60 years. And like its predecessor, it is certainly “expensive”. But while one or two reports write it off as being “disappointing all-round”, the majority are more upbeat. It is a “beautiful and well spaced room” with views of the leafy square, and most diners feel that Marco Calenzo’s cooking, which puts an emphasis on seafood, is “thankfully very good” or even “exceptional”. Top Tip – interesting option of a 45-minute business lunch.

For 32 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
