“Love the spin on the Peruvian x Japanese dishes” – Kurt Zdesar’s Nikkei concept fueled by its ‘Tokyo to Lima’ cocktail menu is growing like topsy, expanding from its Soho home (undergoing ‘an exciting restyle’ as of summer 2022) to Marylebone Village in January 2022, with forthcoming debuts in Doha, Riyadh and San Francisco as part of a plan to expand to 20 sites globally in the next 5 years. The vibe is as energetic as its expansion plans: “too noisy for the seniors in our group, but all the youngsters loved it!”

Loud and lively late-night Nikkei (Peruvian-Japanese fusion) haunt that’s “a great spot for watching Soho” – and the food is “awesome” too. “You have to book in advance because it’s usually very full”. For a more wallet-friendly option earlier in the day, order a bento box with “a little bit of everything – highly recommended”. In September 2021 the brand announced a second branch in Marylebone Village, to open in January 2022.

“Exquisite food and cocktails”“an amazing blend of flavours danced across my tongue!” – and “a great vibe (particularly for late-night dining)” help make this Japanese-Peruvian fusion haunt in Soho a “fun and buzzy” (if “loud”, especially when the music’s cranked up) destination for a night on the tiles.

For 32 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).

"Nicely prepared creative flavorful fusion of Peruvian and Japanese. Atmosphere probably would have been buzzy and fun on another day but was fairly flat on Sunday evening. Service simply atrocious - order glass of wine did not arrive until we reminded 15 minutes (no apology); had to beg for pudding menu; bill included 4 items from another table…. "
