Harden's says

A Kickstarter campaign earlier in the year has funded a move from the Byker shipping container to a bricks-and-mortar building, where even more can happen, including dinner. Serving up accomplished all-day fare, chef Anna Hedworth also runs a food school, events, 'The Grazer' food blog and a supper club.

A “really excellent find in a charming location”, “Anna Hedworth’s flagship restaurant in the Ouseburn serves an unusual and interesting menu” in “a quirky building just away from the city centre”. The former Quo Vadis and Rochelle Canteen chef started out here in a shipping container, before graduating to this upstairs, open-kitchen venue. (“Flawless… high praise from a veggie going to a ‘normal’ restaurant!”)

“Anna Hedworth’s gem of a restaurant has gone from strength to strength” since moving from its initial location in a shipping container (with a little help from Kickstarter) in 2018. “What a treat” it is, especially on the terrace, where you can enjoy accomplished small plates and an “unusual drinks list, much of it made on the premises” before carting off wares from their deli.

“A real star amongst Newcastle’s growing stable of good eateries” – ex-architect Anna Hedworth’s casual, all-day haunt has moved from its original home in a Byker shipping container to a bricks-and-mortar building thanks to a Kickstarter campaign. For 32 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
