Harden's says
Founded by JK Kapur in 1972 in Bombay, Copper Chimney has 15 restaurants in five Indian cities and chose a unit on Westfield London’s main restaurant row (the South Terrace) for its first UK branch. If you’re in the mall, this is one of its better eating options – feedback is still too limited though to suggest you would cross postcodes to try it out.
Harden's survey result
Summary
With 15 restaurants in five Indian cities, this long-established Indian chain (est 1972 in Mumbai) chose Westfield (near the main entrance) for its first UK branch, which opened a couple of years ago. We still don’t get a huge volume of reports, but all are upbeat, especially from those with kids in tow: “authentic, fairly priced, and with something for the whole family to enjoy”.

For 32 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).

Owner's description
The menu utilises fresh produce, sourced from local suppliers and spices procured from the best farms across India. Divided into seven sections; Starter Plates, Tandoor Grills, Curries, Sides, Breads, Biryanis and Desserts there is a myriad of delicious items to choose from. Signature dishes include Grilled Burrah Chop from the Tandoor – perfected over the decades this is cinnamon scented and made extra tender thanks to its 8-hour marination prior to cooking. From the curries, The Butter Chicken was the first dish to ever appear on the Copper Chimney menu when it first opened in Bombay in 1972, and to this day remains a bestseller for good reason. The Parda Lamb Biryani is expertly mixed and not one to miss also making it a Copper Chimney classic that has been reinvented and refined over the years. To finish the Gajar Pistachio Crumble is a dish unique to Copper Chimney and memorable thanks to its subtle spicing and warm flavours.
The innovate cocktail list spans signature house-made specials such as the Worli Morning (vodka, orange liqueur, curry leaf and lemon sugar), which gives a nod to Copper Chimney’s first and flagship restaurant located in the areas of Worli in Bombay. Achari Whiskey (sour mash whiskey, ginger ale and mango) is an ever popular mix amongst regulars, whilst the Sobo G&T (sweet basil infused gin, hibiscus tea, cranberry, lime, traces of spices and sparkling quinine water) is in honor of South Bombay, the home of Copper Chimney.
