“Puck never disappoints” according to fans of Wolfgang P’s first European outpost across the road from The Dorchester’s main entrance, who say its “amazing cocktails” and wide selection of prime cuts from both UK farms and also farther afield (including USDA steaks, Australian wagyu, and Japanese Pure A5 Wagyu) are ideal business entertaining fodder; and also well-suited “for a chilled evening” generally. Even some fans note that “it’s very pricey” or that “you may have to make your own atmosphere”, but the harsh critiques of some former surveys were absent this year.

“I’ve had better, but if cost is irrelevant…” – this “good but exceedingly pricey” US-style steakhouse in a Park Lane hotel is part of a global brand from celeb chef Wolfgang Puck, the second most famous Austrian-born American in LA. The menu lists 16 steaks, up to a Japanese pure wagyu rib eye from Kyushu at heart-stopping £160. “And did I mention it was expensive? Somehow we racked up a bill of almost £100 for two full English breakfasts with coffee”.

For 32 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
