Harden's says

Jason Atherton has installed himself in this bold conversion by Harrods of 2,000 square feet of its lower ground floor (formerly men’s shoes!) into a swanky, new 114-seat brasserie. Fleetingly opened in March 2020 as an in-store operation, it was tranformed post-pandemic with Atherton at the helm, and a menu showcasing the best of British ingredients, such as Wye Valley asparagus salad, Roasted Cumbrian lamb and shepherd’s pie, Devon crab and Cumbrian beef tartar. Harrods has lacked a destination restaurant in its own right in recent times: this looks like it may have finally cracked it!

“In the lower ground floor of Harrods opposite the wine department”, this luxe brasserie from Jason Atherton’s Social Group opened immediately after the pandemic. Unsurprisingly, prices are not bargain basement, but even those complaining about them rate the food as good, and the store at last has the comfortable, modern restaurant space it formerly lacked. Top Tip – very affordable set menu, but you must have booked ahead.

Jason Atherton has installed himself in this bold conversion by Harrods of 2,000 sq ft of its lower ground floor (formerly men’s shoes!) into a “spectacular” new 114-seat brasserie. Fleetingly opened in March 2020 as an in-store operation, it was transformed post-pandemic with Atherton at the helm and a menu showcasing the best of British ingredients, such as Wye Valley asparagus salad, roasted Cumbrian lamb and shepherd’s pie, Devon crab and Cumbrian beef tartar. On early feedback, one diner was “underwhelmed”, especially given the Knightsbridge prices, while others have been won over the “outstanding” cuisine. Harrods has lacked a destination restaurant in its own right in recent times: maybe they have finally cracked it!

For 32 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).

"Good food in comfortable surroundings away from the hubbub of the food hall. Special mention. to the excellent Harrods own label wines on the list which were excellent."
