“Still delivering on what it set out to do” – Alan and Mark Wogan’s (yes, the late Terry’s sons) hip pizza chain is the best-rated of the mid-sized groups, thanks to its “huge and amazing pizzas with delicious and unusual toppings” (“now the choice is even easier with the 50/50 option!”). Top Menu Tip – “awesome vegan nduja pizza” is amongst a growing number of plant-based options (and, from June 2022, they now have a fully meat-free site, in their 135-cover Shoreditch branch).

These “trendy pizza joints with a modern twist and clean, industrial interiors” serve “generously portioned and always-fresh” thin-crust pizza, attracting a good fan club for this 10-year-old group run by the late Terry Wogan’s sons, Mark and Alan. They make no claim to authenticity and are more influenced by New York than Naples – but the “bizarre combinations on the blackboard always turn out to be unexpectedly delicious. Believe in them!”.

“Messy… but so tasty!” – the “best pizzas ever” win nothing but rave reviews for these “easygoing and fun” outlets (backed by the late Terry Wogan’s sons, Mark and Alan), which were out-scored only by the very narrowest margins by Pizza Pilgrims in the last survey as London’s best. “If you like funky topping combos, this is the place for you”.

“Messy… but so tasty!” – the “best pizzas ever” win nothing but rave reviews for these “easygoing and fun” outlets (backed by the late Terry Wogan’s sons, Mark and Alan), which were out-scored only by the very narrowest margins by Pizza Pilgrims this year as London’s best. “If you like funky topping combos, this is the place for you”. NB: Ry Jessup, the Kiwi who originally founded the chain, moved on from the business after the survey closed in summer 2019, but we have maintained the rating.

For 32 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
