“Any trip to Scotland and in particular Gleneagles would not be complete without dinner at Jon & Fernanda’s!” – so say fans of this “great find” near the famous resort, whose “friendly and welcoming” style helps make it “a firm favourite” for those who have discovered it over the last 22 years. The “locally sourced” à la carte menu is an accomplished but relatively down-to-earth antidote to the fancier fare found down the road: “it is so hard to choose from, with so many stunning dishes and wonderful presentation”.

“Now getting back to what they do best, serving up local ingredients in the most mouth-watering dishes”, this high-street outfit down the road from Gleneagles (and whose owners used to work there) “never disappoints” with its well-priced seasonal cooking. “If this restaurant was just down the road we'd be going every week… one not to miss!”.

“Just down the road from Gleneagles Hotel” – and in its own mould “able to hold its own” with its more famous neighbour (where the proprietors used to work) – this “cosy” high street restaurant “ticks all the right boxes”, and is a big hit with all those who comment on it. It helps that it’s a fraction of the cost: the table d’hote menu offers a choice of six dishes for each course: two courses for £29.95 and three for £37.95.

For 32 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
