“A simple, understated oasis of calm and deliciousness, just a stone’s throw from the hullabaloo of Marble Arch” – this accomplished Basque venue in Seymour Village serves a “concise but impressive menu” of “sublime Spanish food mixing tapas and some of the best meat and fish in London”. In particular, “the steaks are pretty amazing”, with cuts from “elderly dairy cows” a particular feature. Top Menu Tips – as well as steak, the grilled turbot is “perfectly cooked”; and “the cheesecake is, as everyone says, awe-inspiring… still thinking about it”.

This “outstanding restaurant with a concise but impressive menu” brings the spirit of Basque dining to Seymour Village, near Marble Arch. The twin specialities are whole turbot and large ribs of retired Galician Blond dairy cows, grilled over charcoal to share. “The great croquetas, amazing steak and sublime cheesecake bring back fond memories of San Sebastian”. Its nearby stablemate, Donostia, serves equally authentic Basque tapas.

“Excellent Basque cooking” and an “interesting wine list” attract high praise for this grill in Seymour Village, near Marble Arch, although the “limited menu” means “the experience is mainly for meat-lovers” – especially the “fantastic Galician steak”, much of it using charcoal-grilled cuts from grass-fed cattle reared in Northern Spain. “The lovely almost secret outdoor terrace is a calm oasis in this part of town”. Its stablemate, Donostia (see also), is nearby.
