Harden's survey result
Summary
“Beautifully cooked, simple yet imaginative dishes” have helped raise the profile of former St John and Brawn chef Cosmo Sterck and his wife Lily’s first venture, and brought critics panting to the door, with Tim Hayward of the FT and Tom Parker Bowles of the Mail leading the charge. Top Tip – the weekday lunch menu is steal at £19 for 2 courses, £23 for 3 as we went to press.
Summary
Bar Buvette (RIP) has been taken over by (chef) Cosmo and (ex-lawyer, nowadays front of house) Lily Sterck, who met at Bristol Uni and whose CVs include well-known London restaurants, St John and Luca. Local press reports say it’s agreeable, white painted looks and short menu of straightforward Mediterranean-influenced cooking (including pasta, charcuterie and ice cream made on the premises) make it one of the best local openings of last year.

For 32 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).

Marmo Restaurant Diner Reviews
"Just a lovely restaurant. Friendly, informal, but knowledgeable service. We always share so have half of each dish, so we end up with a menu of five or six small dishes. It was perfect here. Every plate added more to the overall. Gnocchi friti with salami Rosa was essentially deep-fried puff pastry with mortadella but was delicious. Barely-cooked tuna with Datterini tomatoes and a sweet dressing was rich, oily, and the best tuna I’ve eaten. Bravo"
"A lovely modern restaurant. A very short but interesting menu. The smoked eel, polenta and Lardo starter was genius. My ricotta ravioli main was also delicious but Sarah’s pork with cauliflower was too large and cauliflower purée was bitter. However I would go again and recommend to others."
