Perhaps because it’s easy to ignore amongst the dross of Kensington High Street, this two-year-old venue focused on the eastern Med doesn’t inspire much feedback, but such as we received is all positive. In June 2022, Tomar Amedi (former head chef of The Palomar) joined, and it is now billed as a ‘Levantine Fire Kitchen’. Could be one to watch.

On the site of Melabes (RIP), the new occupant since December 2020 of this mezzanine site, with large windows overlooking Kensington High Street, offers an eastern Mediterranean menu (inspirations from Bulgaria, Serbia, Greece and Turkey) with many of the main dishes from the mangal (BBQ).

For 32 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).

Reviewed 11 months,

"Service needs work- leaning in front of someone while they are eating, to serve the next person is poor. Luckily the other staff brought the score up. Loud music. Scallops, potatoes and fish fillets were great. But the desserts were 'interesting'. Most of it tasted samey. "
