Harden's says
With a fully retractable electric glass roof, the top floor of this new Japanese-Nordic food and retail emporium, housing the 130-seat roof garden with an expansive south-facing terrace will be a local hot ticket whatever the weather. Food includes an all-day small plate menu with main dishes at lunch and dinner, served from the kitchen at Eldr (see also) with main dishes for lunch and dinner. See also Café Kitsuné and Sachi.
Harden's survey result
Summary
“Come rain or shine the rooftop is always buzzing” at this “simply super space” – a gorgeously decorated, 130-seat terrace on top of Belgravia’s landmark Pantechnicon building, complete with retractable glass roof for rainy weather. Although some reporters say you only go for the great location, most accounts give it a thumbs-up all round, and “presenting something ’Nordic’ and different” as its cuisine (from the kitchen at downstairs Eldr) goes down well (as do the “fab cocktails”…).
Summary
“Fun in the sun” is to be had at the Cubitt Group’s new fifth-floor haunt. As glam rooftops go, few in London are lovelier than this luxurious perch atop the group’s gorgeous – expense-be-damned! – redevelopment of Belgravia’s Pantechnicon building, whose September 2020 opening was hampered by the pandemic. With a fully retractable, electric glass roof, the 130-seat roof garden with an expansive south-facing terrace is a local hot ticket whatever the weather (evidently, “it’s lovely when it’s fine and when the weather’s not good you still feel like you’re outside with lots of glass”). Food includes an all-day small plates menu with main dishes at lunch and dinner, served from the kitchen at Eldr (see also). Early reports say “steak tartare is to die for, and the smörgåsbord and small plates are better than the large plates”. If you ever trouble yourself by glancing at your credit card bills, then exercise some caution before deciding to visit…
For 32 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
