Harden's says
A return to Shoreditch for the Mexican cafe that started life in the area before relocating to Bermondsey; this second opening for Edson and Natalie Diaz-Fuentes is "an ode to the bustling taquerias of Mexico".
Harden's survey result
Summary
Edson and Natalie Diaz-Fuentes’s authentic cuisine – washed down with delicious margaritas – wins consistently high ratings, if from a small fan club, for their Bermondsey restaurant. No feedback on their newer cafe in Shoreditch – a return to the area where they began their career in the capital seven years ago.
Summary
Edson and Natalie Diaz-Fuentes again win mostly good, if slightly up-and-down reports for their ‘real food of Mexico’, mixing tacos and tostadas with a few more substantial dishes. In autumn 2021, the couple return to Shoreditch (site of their first restaurant, which closed in 2016) with a new opening to join their existing Bermondsey venture. It’s on a corner site that was formerly a grab-and-go pitstop, Pod.
For 32 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
