“Boy is the fish good” at Mitch Tonks’s Bristol outpost – “shipped in daily from Cornwall, it couldn’t be fresher”. “Still a classic but perhaps getting a bit old-fashioned” after more than 15 years (it used to be called the Rockfish Grill) – it’s perfect “if you like white linen tablecloths in a ‘proper’ restaurant”. There are “some inventive flourishes mixed in with the standard fare”, and overall it’s “such a joy to eat there”.

For 32 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
