Harden's says
Opened in October 2021, an enormous, American-style, 350-cover brasserie, split over three levels, residing in one of Mayfair’s only surviving Georgian ‘Grade II’ listed buildings, which dates back to 1720 and is the former home of the Duke of Montrose. The PR announcement said it will be a “blend of old-world British elegance, New England extravagance, and subterranean decadence”.
Harden's survey result
Summary
“The burlesque show can come as a bit of a shock, but adds to the fun if somewhat tacky vibe” of this big, brash, American brasserie – all 350 covers of it, set over three floors of a grand Georgian townhouse in Mayfair. Fans feel “it’s set to be a staple” aided by its enjoyable New England-style cuisine and glam, highly Instagrammable interior, but some reports do suggest that “while good, the food’s nothing special and not cheap”. Top Tip – recently they added a 100-cover foliage-filled terrace for lunch, dinner and drinks.
Summary
Opening in October 2021, an enormous, American-style, 350-cover brasserie, split over three levels, residing in one of Mayfair’s only surviving Georgian Grade II listed buildings (which dates back to 1720, and is the former home of the Duke of Montrose). Its backer is Joey Ghazal, who has blown in from Dubai, where he has three venues, and aims to bring some life to slightly dead Hanover Square. The PR announcement said it will be a ‘blend of old-world British elegance, New England extravagance, and subterranean decadence’. Can’t wait!
For 32 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
