Harden's says

Out of challenging times can come genius solutions – this summer 2020 addition to Borough Market was an off-the-cuff collaboration between the well-known ‘Turnips’ fruit ’n’ veg business and Tomas Lidakevicius from Jason Atherton’s City Social. It provides two dining options, both open air within the stand, and both of which have inspired rave press reviews. There’s a fine dining menu (at £72 served Wed-Sat 5pm-9pm) and a more casual ‘small plates’ operation and cocktail bar (dishes about £9.50, Wed-Sat noon-10pm). In May 2021 it announced that it was going permanent.

Tomas Lidakevicius produces “very innovative dishes using seasonal produce” at this zeitgeisty venture, attached to a greengrocer’s stall in Borough Market, where a pop-up quickly went permanent in 2021. You book either for the sharing plates or full (£90) tasting menu experience – in either case “the place feels like being in a market stall to create an evening to remember; and it’s close to the Thames for a nice walk home”.

Out of challenging times can come genius solutions – this “unique” venture “tucked inside a greengrocer's shop/stall in Borough Market” was an off-the-cuff collaboration in July 2020 between the well-known ‘Turnips’ fruit ’n’ veg business and Tomas Lidakevicius from Jason Atherton’s City Social. In May 2021 it announced that it was going permanent. It provides two dining options, both within the stand, which inspire not only rave press reviews but also excellent early feedback from reporters. “Tables are well laid-out, the ambience is soothing, and all courses on the excellent and innovative tasting menu are exceptional, both in taste and presentation, with the chef explaining each course. Very good wine selection too”. There’s a fine dining menu (at £65m served Wed-Sat 5pm-9pm) and a more casual ‘small plates’ operation and cocktail bar (Wed-Sat noon-10pm).

For 32 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).
