About

BDS stands for Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions, an international non-violent civil resistance campaign to pressure Israel to abide by international law and recognize Palestinian human rights. It was initiated by 170 Palestinian civil society organizations in the Occupied territories, within Israel, and among Palestinian refugees in the Diaspora in 2005. In 2007, an international conference was held and the Palestinian BDS National Committee (BNC) was formed. To learn more, visit https://bdsmovement.net/BNC

Boycott Amazon’s Unholy Alliances is a campaign of the BDS-LA Coalition, focusing on educating US consumers and communities about the role Amazon plays, through Amazon Web Services, Whole Foods, Amazon’s contracts with and in Israel, and other operations, in oppression and surveillance. Amazon’s practices impact its own workforce and violate their rights. Amazon’s surveillance, intelligence gathering and big data operations affect communities in the US and other populations targeted for counter-insurgency policing, and occupied Palestinians. We propose to pressure the company by promoting a consumer boycott of Whole Foods, which carries illegal Israeli settlement products, and exposing Amazon’s role domestically and internationally in violating human rights and workers’ rights.
