“You have to like loud and vibey” if you visit celeb Aussie chef, Roy Ner’s nightclubby newcomer in Mayfair, “beautifully decorated with large open kitchen and bars”. Its launch wasn’t smooth – with incidents of “comically bad service in the first week” – leading one or two critics to query: “is it the worst launch of the year?”. But practically all reporters feel that “the Middle Eastern-style food certainly hits the spot” and there’s a general sense that “once it beds in they may be able to work out their problems”.

For 32 years we've been curating reviews of the UK's most notable restaurant. In a typical year, diners submit over 50,000 reviews to create the most authoritative restaurant guide in the UK. Each year, the guide is re-written from scratch based on this survey (although for the 2021 edition, reviews are little changed from 2020 as no survey could run for that year).

"Food is the high point, service was attentive and did not disappoint. Lunchtime was much quieter and calmer than my previous visit for dinner. Quite normal really. Those seeking Ibiza vibes will be disappointed. "
